This car was one of a pair built for the Australian Automobile Racing Club (AARC) for members to try before becoming more involved in the category. Peter Windsor, who went on to become an outstanding member of the Formula One community as a writer and as part of the Williams F1 Team, looked after the car. I was fortunate to be able to coach Peter and his friend Colin Piper who assisted him in the preparation of the cars at Warwick Farm one day.

Colin Piper is a senior member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra as the percussionist.

I owned a Nota Vee which went on to serve such notables as John Smith (who drove two of the Dawson-Damer Lotus cars at the T.R. Meeting) and Jason Bargwanna who attained fame in V8 sedan racing. Bargwanna nows owns my former car.

My Nota was probably the most successful Nota Vee and, quite possibly, carried more people towards later success than any other single Formula Vee car.

Two more F-111's were at Harewood during the weekend: A8-142 which had a hydraulic leak and had to make an emergency landing. A8-147 arrived at Harewood on 16th April.
