Lakeville lost one of it's older well-known citizens this past week. The family thought it fitting to have bagpipes playing in the background at the cemetery. I was at the library (getting a book called "Seven Centuries of Paintings", for all of you with inquiring minds) and when I came out with my large stack of books (ok, so I hit the knitting section, too), I could hear the bagpipes. He was playing right near where I was parked. After fumbling around with full arms and all, I managed to prop the camera up on another car and snap off a few pictures before he knew I was there, which I always like better. He had arrived early and was using the time and space to warm up before the funeral. Lucky me! I LOVE bagpipes!!! When I got to my car, he stopped playing and we started talking. His wife of 27 years, Darlene, was with him and I just had the nicest time out in the sunshine talking with them. He was wishing he knew more about the man of whose funeral he was hired to play for and me being the ever curious one had my own questions....
