SmugMug > keywords > poppies > "Heart over Horsetail Falls" Yosemite National Park. Sunset Spring 2009. I captured this during another outing to capture Horsetail Falls. The water flow over the falls was pretty low this winter. As I was shooting I noticed the winds picking up. Some gusts picked up the trickle of the falls and it puffed up like a cloud - the sun shining on the mist and I froze this moment. This year was almost non-existent for capturing any good Horsetail Falls pictures since it was cloudy and snowing much of February this year - I guess that is what makes this such a hard picture to take since the window for good images is only a few weeks. For more information on Horsetail falls and my award winning "Nature's Firefalls" image see this. http://www.jharrisonphoto.com/gallery/2747559_ghkMc/1/281579766_t4hmN/Medium

This is what the view looks like now after a major renovation project at Tunnel View to help restore what the view looked like years ago. They trimmed quite a few tries that had grown up and widened the parking lot so tourists don't get run over trying to take pictures (previously people would stand in the parking lot to get a good picture of people at the overlook.
