SmugMug > keywords > railings > 13.3.08 - My first watercolour! I went into town for a meeting this morning and it was a beautiful warm sunny day. 45 minutes later it was grey, drizzly and cold. I took a few photos but wasn't happy with any of them, especially this one which was very flat and boring. I had a vision of it in my head as a watercolour painting and once I got home set about realising the vision. I must admit to often floundering around in photoshop, hoping for something nice to happen, but today I felt in control of the software, rather than the other way round, and I'm really pleased with this. I'm sure there is an easy option in photoshop where you click a tab and it automatically creates a watercolour, but this was done entirely by altering the levels and contrast.
