SmugMug > keywords > rio grande > 64/365. Jetty Jacks along the Rio Grande. Another picture from my stroll along the Rio Grande Bosque on Thursday. I always take pictures of the Jetty Jacks, they fascinate me. I see the lines like a giant abstract spider web. They are stark and utilitarian and disrupt the otherwise beautifully peaceful scene of the Big River. Yet... they have a strength, beauty and peace of their own. I also see them made into quilt squares... somehow, but the exact design of that block still alludes me. Perhaps, this time inspiration will come? I would love to someday do a photo and quilt show using pictures I've taken, along side quilts I have created, using that photo or series of photos for inspiration. Perhaps... IF I continue my education that could be my senior project? or Master's thesis... or.... hmmmm.... I do like the color in this with the fall leaves and rusty steel. I am still playing with PP the original of this and others of the Jetty Jacks. Cropping. Adding contrast, less color, no color....
