Steppin' Out
Yesterday I spent the latter part of the afternoon at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, a peaceful secluded spot far removed from the crowds of Virginia Beach. It's hard to believe, but I had the beach entirely to myself, until a flock of tiny sandpipers showed up. They're the quickest little birds you could possibly imagine, darting in and out of the water as the waves lap the shore. This shot turned out a lot better than I had anticipated, given how far away I was at the time.
