I came across this boat at the shipyard in the town where I live. It obviously has been used for painting boats and ships, but to me the Greek legend of Charon - the ferryman of Hades - is brought to life by the boat itself and the doorway on the bright red wall. Where this entrance leads, I can only guess. Shot with Canon 400D and Lensbaby Composer.

The 94-year-old Portsmouth Lightship is dry-docked in Olde Towne Portsmouth in an unlikely spot -- sandwiched between the swanky Marriott Renaissance Hotel and some non-descript 1970's waterfront condos! At least she's been saved from the wrecking ball. We went aboard last weekend and were fascinated to learn that the mast is hollow, allowing extremely skinny crewmen to access the light for maintenance. :-)
