One last snow shot from this weekends storm. This morning our thermometer is showing -33 Celcius. Luckily no wind, just plain cold.

SmugMug > keywords > spruce > This autumn scene was shot at the Spruce Grove Campground in Colorado. I think it is worth viewing in the larger sizes. We recently spent a day driving around the area from Woodland Park, Florissant, Cripple Creek, Divide and the Spruce Grove Campground looking for fall color for me to shoot. As usual, of course, I found quite a lot of other things to shoot, as well. I've put these images into a gallery under the category of "Landscapes" titled "Autumn in Colorado." I did quite a lot of experimentation with some of these images and if some of you have the time, I'd really like to hear your critical comments on any of these images.

I thank you, again, for the nice comments on my fire hydrants shot. I hope it did not sound like I was complaining about being disqualified. The Dgrin rules clearly state that the photo must have been shot in the last two weeks and my date definitely did not bear that out. I should have looked at the date stamp in the exif data, but never even thought about doing it. Even if I had, I would not have been able to correct it, as that is not a modifiable field. Hopefully, next challenge I will do better.

It has been a busy week so far with lots of processing. I love doing it, though. Hope you guys all have a great day and find some great things to shoot!

Fresh snow.
Sun sets the trees ablaze for an instant.

Don’t blink or you will miss it.

The spruce tree looms taller than all the golden trees around it. The wind tosses it back and forth. It dances in the wind.
SmugMug > keywords > spruce > DAYBREAK
The time in the morning when the first light breaks through the trees and warms your face. Sunshine is full of hope and excitement and energy. It heralds the beginning of a new day. The possibilities are endless. In the winter when the cold is creeping in through your jacket, this warm glow is even more appreciated. It thaws your bones better than a hot cup of coffee. It gives you a jolt of confidence to venture forth and explore the adventure of your new day.

The fall colors sparkle like gold in contrast with the dark spruce in front of the Eastern Alaska Range mountains.
