Here are some of the pictures from our yearly kids' Christmas party. It just wouldn't be Christmas for me without spending this special time with the kids.
Everyone arrived around 1PM. Since it was Sunday and CFA was closed, we had cheese pizza instead of nuggets plus the usual other chips and dips. I had 4 crafts for the kids, and they made some of their own crafts too.
While the pizza finished, Joey suggested that the kids draw, so I got out some computer paper. Our first planned craft was a Christmas tree. The kids stuck ornaments on wire into a foam tree and then put a star on top and some wire garland around the outside. That was probably the cutest and favorite craft of the day. We all particularly loved how Eli set up to entirely fill his tree. We gave him all the extra ornaments so he could keep going.
Then, we made these rice/glue/food color wreaths. I think the kids enjoyed that as well. Bascially stir and make into a donut shape and then put on some berries made out of red hole punch circles. I had gloves out so the kids wouldn't end up with green hands, and they proceeded to make glove balloons. An unplanned and super cute addition ot the party. They were very creative with it.
Next up was painting. I asked for a tree or some other Christmas themed picture. I got several trees and quite a few snowman. Donna and Jonathan worked together and came up with a really nice red and green piece. Johnny kept going putting 4 trees across on his paper...his own little forest.
Finally, it was time to decorate glass ornaments. Most of the kids put glue and glitter inside and shook but some of them put in garland and various sequins.
We also read books, played bingo, and did made our famous batch of painted sugar cookies.
I'll be loading the rest of the pics on Smug soon. For now they are on Picasa here:
