SmugMug > keywords > tides > May 20th, 2009 World's Largest Bird Bath Yesterday was so gorgeous but I didn't feel up to doing much... So late in the day I poked the camera out the sliding glass doors on the deck and snapped off a few *very* zoomed-in shots (although our cottage is oceanfront, the water's edge is about 700 feet away at this angle). Didn't see the birdie in the bottom left until I pulled this up on the computer later. My favorite part of this shot is the light -- the sun was hitting the waves so perfectly!
SmugMug > keywords > tides > May 16th, 2009 Stormy Seas I'd forgotten how quickly the weather can change here at the beach... This morning it was sunny directly overhead, but fog obscured all but the water's edge. This moody view was taken when an afternoon storm had moved out over the ocean. Today (well tomorrow actually, since I post my daily photo early) we're going to an air show to see planes from both World Wars! That is, if the weather holds out. :-) Either way, it should definitely provide a few photo opps!
SmugMug > keywords > tides > May 15th, 2009 Beached Catamaran Second picture of the day! If you look closely, you can see the Photomatix watermark in at least three places on this shot. It's my first try at HDR using their trial version. This catamaran sits between our beach house and our neighbor to the north, as landscape decoration. You can tell how long it's been there, as the bayberry and sea grasses have completely overtaken the far side of this vintage vessel.
