This is one of the boys' games. It's called Gearation. A few years ago I found a tabletop version at a yard sale, and then at Marbles Kids Museum the other day, we found a refrigerator add-on version. It's a lot of fun and a long standing favorite toy at our house. Basically you slide the gears which have magnets on the back of them around so that they will spin. Rearrange and spin again. The center swirly one here is the one with that makes them go round in this set.

So, this is non flash with the same wall lamp as yesterday. Used a tripod. Tried some with the gears running and some with them off. I liked the off version better. I spent a bit of time cleaning scratches off the black table background. Then, I applied the SCurve action again which brightened up the colors and darkened the background enough to get rid of the more minor scratches.

Something different from me:-)

The wind was out of the NW at 20mph when we were at Lake Wheeler yesterday, so I didn't stick around to get any good shots there. We did feed Mr. Muscovy and the 2 babies that aren't so little anymore before we got back into the warm car, though.

Johnny started his antibiotics and going back and forth between Tylenol and Motrin all day kept him feeling reasonable. He's already in less pain and should be ready for school tomorrow. It was either take him or me to the doctor yesterday, so I took him.. Maybe I can get in tomorrow.

You guys really made my day with all the comments on my bubble shot from yesterday. Thank you.

SmugMug > keywords > toy > day 312: "carrier". started reading "world war z" today. so once again i am inspired by cheap zombie literature. not sure how the "virus" got started but rats are a great carrier of all sorts of fun diseases! i have limited lighting at the parents house so i tried to get creative with the flash. i bounced it off a wall to the right while positioning the toy partially within a nook to block some of the bounce. it worked out fairly well. tomorrow i will get more serious and snag some photos of mebane, nc... something normal.

Merry Christmas!
No matter how many new toys you buy a boy for a Christmas, he's still going to play with the piece of unistrut he found in the basement.
