I was at work last week and was checking the weather up north just for fun on my lunch break. I saw snow in the forecast for the Grand Canyon... I had yet to get an image I was happy with from the Grand Canyon and didnt have any snow images either. I decided that to make a run up even though it was only a normal 2 day weekend. I got to the Canyon around noon on saturday and it started snowing about 20 after arriving. The light dusting quickly turned into a full on blizzard and I was forced to retire to my hotel room. Hoping for some luck in the morning I work up to find that it was perfectly clear. I rushed to get out to the Canyon and barley made it in time to catch sunrise at the closest overlook, Mather Point. It was frigid cold (~0F before the 20mph wind chill) and I was only willing to stay outside for 20-30 minutes before returning to the truck. I hope to return a few more times this winter, weather permitting that is!
