A pair of Harris' Hawks perch on a tree limb 15 feet off the path. The "Raptor Free Flight" program runs twice daily below Cat Canyon in the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. These wild, untethered birds fly from the trainer to nearby perches on saguaro cacti or dead trees to accept a morsel of food. They fly a foot or two over the heads of museum visitors gathered to observe these fantastic predators.
