Its late fall along the American River in Sacramento. Coming off a few days of rain, the early morning fog was dissipating as the sun was rising. A break in the clouds allowed a sliver of sunlight to highlight distant trees and accentuate the color of the vegetation. The calm in this lagoon belies the activity that surrounds it; a fast flowing stream, salmon migrating upstream, waterfowl feeding. But, that is OK. Even the landscape deserves a respite.
