I spent the vast majority of my day shooting time-lapse video on campus. Construction crews are installing a massive granite sculpture by the late Jesús Moroles into the sculpture garden by the new Union.
I left the camera shooting at one point while I went looking for a power outlet. When I came back, there was a cute little bird perched on my lens. As I came closer, the little guy flew away, and as he did, he left a big wet crap on my 24-70. Definitely a first for me.
Emily and Ahna hung with me for most of the shoot. Ahna took photos and Emily tried desperately to stay on task with her design work. I think she mostly stayed out there because I had her phone. Using the TriggerTrap app, my phone died within a couple of hours, but Emily’s lasted most of the day. Thanks Emily!
After work, I picked up my iMac from the Apple store in Southlake. We ran into Walt there, so we got to hang with him for a bit. He’s a good dude! I hope he comes by to visit us sometime soon.
When we finally got home, Emily and I attempted once again to get that bookcase mounted to the wall. This time we picked up some self-drilling screws and a titanium drill bit. I was able to drill into that metal wall, but the self-drilling screws pulled right back out of the wall. We ended the night exhausted and deflated. Maybe tomorrow.
