~ The enamel AA signs have led some to imagine that this was once a hotel, but in fact it was built around 1870 as an estate bothy, albeit a superior one with a  central heating system. The signs were, I believe, liberated from a hotel in Blair Atholl.

~ The cluster of buildings down in the valley of the Allt Feith Lair is Fealar Lodge, where the keeper's house is probably the highest permanently occupied dwelling in the British Isles. At 1800 ft , and 13 miles from the nearest public road, it is routinely cut off for weeks and even months at a time in winter, although less so in these globally-warmed days.
