7-7-02 ------ Longview firefighter Chris McGinnis puts out a fire in a 1986 Lincoln Towncar owned by Allen Smith Jr. in the parking lot of Autozone on Hwy 80 near Spur 63.  Smith was driving on Highway 80 when he noticed smoke coming from under the car's hood, and pulled over into the parking lot and got out of the car just before flames engulfed the passenger compartment. A rollover on Munson Avenue Friday took out a utility pole that cut power to around 150 homes and businesses served by Traverse City Light & Power. Micheal Cleggett, 22, of Kalkaska, was traveling west when his sport utility vehicle veered off the road and crashed around 11:20 a.m., police said. Power was restored to most customers within an hour, but about a half-dozen businesses waited longer as work crews replaced the pole and transfer wires, utility officials said. Cleggett was not hurt but was ticketed by police.
