It might have been because we went on the last day of the show this year, but it seemed like the 2013 NAIAS auto show in Detroit had many more visitors than last year. The place was packed! This normally makes it a little hard to grab a clean shot, so I use neutral density filters to slow the shutter. In this case it produced a cool ghosting effect.
Post-processing pics from the auto show can be interesting. Certain images you think you really nailed, only to find out later that the constant changing lights or ever present people have ruined the shot in one way or another. That's pretty much what I was expecting here, but this was actually came out pretty nicely. Above this new E-class were the rows of square panels that changed color, the projection screen that kept switching to new images, and various sets of lights that would dim, change color, and move direction. Not such a big deal for a single shot, but it did add complexity for the series of shots combined for this HDR.
The Ferrari display was behind a glass fence, in order to keep out the peons such as myself. However, as I was taking this picture, two boys (one who looked to be about 16 and the other maybe 12) were escorted into the forbidden zone by a slick salesman hoping to get a piece of daddy's money, and walked right into my shot. Everyone behind the glass wall does the eye roll when the 12 year old kid slides into the drivers seat, and everyone is generally feeling a bit of jealous hatred towards these two chaps. The 16 year old stands up and some guy in the crowd yells "Oh my god, Joe Jonas, I love your music!" Everyone gets a nice belly laugh and the kid (who was not Joe Jonas by the way) may have even blushed. Oh, and that guy who yelled out, may have been me.... I'm just sayin'
