Often forgotten, highly important

This photograph shows three individuals responsible for health data entry, monitoring, and evaluation for the Tchaoudjo district in the Central region of Togo. Having accurate and timely health data is necessary in order to truly understand the state of health in an area. These individuals have an extremely challenging task as the internet connection in Togo is frequently inadequate or not working at all for long periods of time. Improving health information systems in low resource settings is an essential step in knowing which aspects of health in the area need the most attention and also when health and health care is improving in an area. These individuals deserve more recognition in their important role in global health.
