A chilly day after a light snow in late fall at Cherry Creek State Park, CO. Upon arriving at the park in mid-afternoon, I saw eight or nine bald eagles perched in a grove of Cottonwood trees. I had to high-tail it back home to get my 300mm 2.8 lens and tripod and hope they were still there when I returned. Luckily they were. I set up quickly just in time for when a few of the eagles took to the air.
Locked talons and tumble Not sure if this was an eagle dispute or mating ritual but it was very interesting to watch! We were actually traveling to the beach on the interstate when my boyfriend(who was driving!) saw them tumbling in mid air. I didnt have time to switch to a longer lens so here they are at 200mm with a 50% crop.Nat Geo will never hire me at this rate, lol! Best viewed in larger sizes...
