Belize is a tiny country saturated with a mix of cultures and customs, but every Belizean community practices the ritual of burring the dead. Cemeteries like this one can be found in every town, and obtaining a lot in this prime realty is extremely sought after. Nearly every cometary is at capacity, which becomes a serious cultural problem, as well as a public health concern, especially during the rainy season. These sacred sites are where families honor loved ones passed, remember the days gone by, but also the route some take home every day. The ritualization of death can easily be ignored through the patterns we make in daily life, converting a burial ground into a foot-path.
