SmugMug > all-time keyword > bird > A male ruby throated hummingbird sits quietly at a feeder. To give you some perspective, the yellow floret thing is about 1" in diameter. This may not be the last hummingbird pic I submit to this, my aim is to get the ultimate hummingbird pic. Oh and my border is a bit off... :/

SmugMug > all-time keyword > bird > Cautiously looking left and right, this groove billed ani quickly drank its water and returned to the dense brush behind this water and feeding station at the Martin Refuge. Edinburg, Texas, June 2008
SmugMug > all-time keyword > bird > Many of the green jays at this feeding station just began to forage on the ground as the actual feeding station became very crowded. This one walked very close to where I was standing. Near Rio Hondo, Texas, June 2008
SmugMug > all-time keyword > bird > This green jay caught me by surprise. It landed on a close branch that was to my left. There was practically no ambient light as the area was heavily shaded so I had to use my flash to brighten the jay. You can see that it had just picked up a sunflower seed which it is holding with its feets. Part of the seed is also at the tip of its beak. Near Rio Hondo, Texas, June 2008

SmugMug > all-time keyword > bird > It was definitely warm when I visited the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge and this green jay just wanted to cool off. It bathed in the water of the feeding station near the Visitor's Center for a few seconds. I caught this image as it was drying itself shaking its feathers. I used flash for fill since the light was dappled and not very strong by this water feature. Near Rio Hondo, Texas, June 2008
