The Mill City - A study in sepia. The ruins of the Gold Medal Flour mill and the Stone Arch Bridge dominate this image of "old" Minneapolis along with the Courthouse clock tower and the North Star Blanket factory. These iconic structures from a bygone era are backed by the glass and steel skyscrapers of the modern city.
Memorabilia18 June 2013 -- 169/365North Providence, Rhode IslandWhen the work day turns into a 12-hour conference call that runs straight through lunch and dinner, a hastily composed safety shot just before heading off to bed becomes a necessity. What you see in tonight's photo is some memorabilia from last night's Boston Bruin's shutout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. I was invited to attend last night's game at the TD Garden in Boston and decided to use the program, hat, and lineup we received as the subject of this shot. It's the first Stanley Cup playoff game I've attended since 1972, and was rewarded with a 2-0 victory to give the B's a 2-1 edge in the series. With any luck, Lord Stanley will return to Boston next week.Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, color sensitivity sliders, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.
