Sunday, February 24, 2013 "THE LIFE OF RILEY" “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” ~ B. B. King February is African-American History Month and this is my contribution to IndigStudios's African-American History challenge today with the theme of "At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality." B.B. King was born Riley B. King and is an African-American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter who is quite endearing to all nationalities and age groups of people. Additional information is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.B._King Believe it or not, but when I read her invite on 2/10/2013 to participate, this photo had already been uploaded to this gallery for my post for today - proof by the date (see below) it was taken. Although I am not a fan of blues music, I like B.B. King. I first met him when he visited and performed at my university's alma mater years ago; and to this day, he has continued the tradition. I love the color in this shot. The only post-processing was to knock back the atmospheric noise that comes with shooting in dark rooms like Rocks Lounge at Red Rock. On the flipside, the high ISO speeds allow for great smoke color.
