In the Icy Cold waters at Boundary Bay in British Columbia photographing Black Oystercatchers and a Black Turnstone along the pebbled shoreline. ( Photo Compliments of Matthew Studebaker)
Snowy Owl Pellets were abundant at most all perching sites along Boundary Bay, evidence that the birds were eating well, However we did come across 3 Snowy Owl carcasses from owls that perished. The Owls mainstay of food was shorebirds and waterfowl along the slat marshes of Boundary Bay!
Long Eared Owl
A Barred Owl, This is actually 4 Images merged to create 1 Image, due to the close proximity of the bird and Inability to back up, I captured 4 scenes and merged them together in post creating this final version. the habitat around the bird was so nice I wanted to create the entire scene. Thanks goes to Matt Studebaker for the Idea and to Connor Stefansion and Jess Findley for showing us the bird.
