This morning, a miracle happened. I managed to wake Emily up in time to go to Power Breakfast at 7AM. YEAH. IT HAPPENED. She even enjoyed herself, I think! We ate at the new Cafe that took the place of Muddy Jake’s (RIP), and it was surprisingly great! Their portions are huge, and the menu is diverse and delicious. Jonathan was fun the chat with, and we all got to hear about Michael’s trip to Santa Fe for an art photography class.
I made some HUGE progress on the Union video at work, and our doorway dolly came in too! I ended up just doing Jamba Juice for lunch, but the others grabbed food at the Union. Gary is super into Pokemon, of course. Our trip back to Chilton from the Union went past the fountain, up Highland, and down Avenue C. But hey man, there were like 6 Pokestops along the way, AND I caught a ton of new Pokemon! Plus, you know, I got steps!
McCall came over after work again to get changed for CG. I like this routine. Camp was extra rough today. My shins are completely shot. I have zero doubt in my mind that I have hairline fractures in both shins. I couldn’t run at all, but I stupidly tried. I could flip tires though! Yeah, we did that. As soon as we pulled up for camp I was like, “Wait, is this CG or Crossfit?” It was rough.
After an amazingly relaxing ice session on the ol’ shins, Emily and I tried a new place called Brisket Burger. It’s off University on the OTHER side of 35. It was actually really good! It kind of reminded us of Keller’s in Dallas, but with bigger, better burgers and food in general. Ok, really the vibe was the only thing that kinda matched.
