A BROWN PELICAN RESTS ON A PILING
Brown Pelicans are year-round residents in coastal marine and estuarine habitats along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the Americas. Their diet includes small schooling fishes such as anchovies, herring, menhaden, and mullet. When capturing prey underwater, the throat pouch can expand to hold almost 10 liters of water.
