47536, Derby, 15-04-1990
The 0906 Newcastle - Poole stands at Derby. I had travelled from Sheffield on this, via the unusuual routing of Toton and Long Eaton. IN the time it took me to cross to this platform, the loco had run round to head for Birmingham.
The influx of extended range locos caused this one to be transferred to Tinsley in October of this year, moving to Crewe in May 1991 where it remained in service until stored in November 1996. After a period in store at Basford Hall, it was moved to Wigan CRDC in January 2001. Gradually stripped for spares, it was sold to Booths in September 2005, and was quickly moved to Rotherham by road, being cut the same month.
