Early Australian homestead, 1800's, Tidbinbilla, ACT, Australia - ravaged over the years through bushfire and neglect
Ritchie's Hut is located at Fourteen Mile Creek on the Howqua River Track, Mt Buller, Victoria. This is the original hut which was burnt down in the Fires of January 2007. It has since been rebuilt but obviously cannot have the originals charm.
Built by the Ritchie's in 1947, as a fishing hut, one of many along the river. Permission was given the permit to build, provided that the Commission would also use it as a patrol hut.
