Starting into the Turn.
About 30 years ago these planes started flying low over our place on training missions or something. At first they were flying lower than they do now. On the first time they did, Kathy and the kids were up hoeing in the garden, and they hear this loud roar coming right at them. They look up and see this huge plane coming directly at them, almost low enough to land in the garden.
I always figured the pilots kept this flight plan because they enjoyed the sight of that woman and two kids running for their lives, skirts blowing in the wind and hoes flying in the air.
Kathy always says it wasn’t like that but I have always enjoyed my version of the story better than hers.
The planes always go just a little ways northeast of us and make a turn to the left. I guess they thought it couldn’t get any better than that.
