A general view of the depot in April 1955 taken from the Euston side and featuring the tender (!) of 46255 City of Hereford. I have not cropped away the extensive foreground in this shot because it shows so well the mess and abandoned tools typical of the ash plant area at Camden.
46154 The Hussar pictured at the head of a down express passing the depot just having crested Camden Bank in October 1957. Not the best of shots but I do like the swirling exhaust.
This is me, in full school uniform(!), standing beside 46100 Royal Scot in front of the coaling tower in April 1956. My companion is Major C. H. "Charlie" Cooper, whose large O gauge garden railway in Halls Road, Tilehurst featured in the July 1955 issue of Model Railway News with photographs by Maurice Earley.
