Refugee Girls Continue to Learn at NRC Supported Schools at Gulan Camp
Young girls attend class in temporary tents at the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) funded school at Gulan refugee camp in Gurbuz District of Khost Province, Afghanistan. Approximately 3,400 families are now living in the camp after fleeing their homes in North Waziristan when the Pakistani Military mounted an offensive in June, 2014 against militant groups such as the Taliban. In addition to providing emergency assistance in the camp, NRC provides schooling to over 2,000 children from the camp and also the local host community.
