August 3, 2011 - This is a Giant Robber Fly "Species Promachus rufipes Red footed Cannibalfly". He landed on the leaf above where I was shooting the red dragonfly, he seemed to be checking out what was going on, I snapped this and he took off. (215:365)

Thank you for all the kind comments on my dragonfly shot yesterday, much appreciated. I am sorry I tried to comment on everyone's pictures but sleep took over. I will try again today.

August 2, 2011-I believe, this skimmer is a Cardinal Meadowhawk (Sympetrum illotum). This is the first time I have seen one of these. If you look at it in larger sizes you can see more details. I cropped a bit and adjusted the contrasts a smidgen. (214:365) Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my shot of the twins yesterday, I truly appreciate it! I tried to comment as much as I could and hope to be able to do so again today.

August 1, 2011-After the t-storms cleared, the entire family came out to feed and relax. The twins were playing and running around. Here they started grooming each other before following "Mom" deeper into the woods. (213:365)

July 31, 2011-Found this ambush nymph on the gate to my ramp. I nearly crushed him with my fingers, as I was grabbing the gate. Posting late again and probably will be until my Mom leaves on the 5th. I am sorry I wasn't able to comment on everyone's pictures yesterday, I am trying but the exhaustion from the chemo is really kicking my butt. Thank you for all the comments on my shot yesterday.
