It was an unusually warm, sunny October day at Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood, Oregon. This is at 6000 feet elevation and about 50 miles East of Portland, looking South down the Cascade range to central Oregon. I love it when the mist and light delineate the layers of mountains and hills this way. Mountain Hemlock trees in the foreground, a favorite tree. Temperatures at sea level were in the 70s, but there was snow on the ground (and on the hiking trails) at Timberline. Zeiss Jena 2.4/35 film camera lens adapted to a digital G1 Panasonic camera.
