Lurie Garden Sunset... Lurie Garden is just amazing during the spring here in Chicago. On this perfect evening, spring storm clouds rolled in just as the sun was setting and made for some amazing color in the sky!
Spring On State... Its been a crazy busy couple of weeks and haven't been able to get out and shoot much but yesterday was soo nice that I had to take an hour and spend some time with my camera outside of the studio. The colorful tulips in this small flower garden on state street made for a great juxtaposition against the Chicago Theater sign. It was soo nice to get out for a bit and im glad that it seems as if spring is here to stay!
Lurie Garden Daffodils... White Tiandrus Daffodil flowers are in full bloom in the Millennium park Lurie Garden area. This 5 acre garden oasis is filled with all sorts of beautiful spring flowers right now so if your in the city definitely take a minute to check it out!!! (5/4/2013)
Spring in the City... Today was absolutely beautiful outside and I had to stop and shoot for a bit on my way home. I was surprised when I found these flowers and just as the sun was starting to set these clouds flew in and added a bit of drama to the sky. I truly hope that spring is here to stay, as Im really looking forward to shooting more flowers in the coming weeks!!
Tribune Tour View Sunset... The view from the top of the Tribune Tower here in Chicago just at sunset. I was definitely amazed by this view and the clouds passing over made for a bit of drama in the sky. It was surprisingly chilly for this Sunday springtime evening, but that seems to be par for the course this year. Once spring decides to arrive, I hope it comes with full force!!!
Grand Army of the Republic Rotunda... This room at the Chicago Cultural Center houses 30-foot walls of Knoxville pink marble, a mosaic floor, and a beautiful stained-glass dome in Renaissance pattern by the firm of Healy and Millet.
Gate 40... In the past when I have tried to photograph McCormick place, I have been escorted off the property and told that If I was spotted again that I would be persecuted for trespassing. Well this past weekend I was given special access to photograph the inside of McCormick place and it was pretty cool to say the least. This is the Gate 40 Entrance located on the west side of the building on Indiana Avenue.
Wrigley Field... In honor of opening day today, here is good old Wrigley Field!! I honestly cant believe that I was able to get a few minutes without a bunch of people standing in front of the building. This was about a 4 second long exposure and the sign was constantly changing every 5 seconds, so I knew I had the shot when I got lucky and the "Welcome to Wrigley field" popped up just as I hit the shutter. A second later and those words would be all blurred out and the shot just wouldnt have been the same!!!
McCormick Place Main Entrance... This is the main entrance to McCormick Place, Chicago's huge convention center. I just love the architecture in this place and have always wanted to shoot it, but their security is always tight and you cant shoot there without permission. Fortunately enough, I was given special permission to shoot there recently and definitely tried my hardest to capture its massiveness.
