SmugMug > all-time keyword > church > 16.5.08 - I haven't had chance to take any photos today, usual manic Friday and our first rain for ages. So I thought it was time to do another sepia of something old and lovely. I tried an SP first but it didn't work out ;) The monument on the left is a memorial to men of the Parish who died in the Great War. Sad to think that the bloodbath touched even this secluded village in the middle of rural Lincolnshire. Coincidentally, this morning I had a fleeting chance to take a photo of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight of WW2 aircraft. Today is the 65th anniversary of the Dambusters Raid, and the last remaining Lancaster bomber was given an escort of Spitfires, Hurricanes and a C47 Dakota over Lincoln. Before doing a photoshoot over the dams they practiced on in Derbyshire. Every time I heard their engines coming I rushed for my camera, but never quite made it in time, very frustrating.
