I shot a few Traxxes here before moving on. Later, in the valley, I saw a northbound Railtraxx freight which I knew I could beat to Dalhem, so I backtracked and waited for him to circle up the L24/1 and come towards me.
Here he is, then, lifting his load of mixed freight up the 1% grade heading towards Germany. The reason this train as well as many others ran over the L40 was construction happening on the new Ponts des Allemands in Vise, which was rebuilt starting in 2017. Final works are being carried out until summer this year, with most trains diverted through Liege on the valley line.
