We got up nice and early this morning to make sure we could hit all the things we wanted to hit. It was the first morning of the trip where I actually got up before receiving a set of adorable SnapChats from McCall of our pets. She’s been watching the place and freaking nailing it. To get our morning jolt, we hit up Dinosaur Coffee, an adorable coffee shop with fun design and fun people. I think that was a checklist item for Amanda, too. Next, we went to a giant flea market, the Melrose Trading Post. That place had a TON of stuff and took a good while to get through. Greg met up with us there to help us through it. Thanks Greg.
When we finished there, we drove down Melrose to another one of Amanda’s checklist items, Compartés Chocolatier. The place was so weird and pretty I hardly knew what to do. Their packaging design is gorgeous, and their chocolate bars range from normal to completely weird. We stocked up on a few bars for the trip home, made another stop at a coffee shop, and then it was off to the airport!
Emily forgot to check us into our flight, so we were the very last people to board the plane (yay Southwest). I was worried we wouldn’t even get on because they announced that the plane had been oversold, and they were looking for volunteers to stay an extra day and go on another flight. Somehow, we managed to get on, and we didn’t even have to check our bags!
I think I forgot to mention that I had a shoot booked in Oklahoma. I was going to have to drive there right after landing (at 9pm), but luckily some thunderstorms hit, so the thing got postponed. Now I get to just relax for a day instead! Woohoo!
Amanda graciously picked us up at the airport and drove us home. She got a flat tire before leaving, so she had to use Emily’s car. Also I think she’s been sick for a few days. The chick really needs a break. Em and I are very thankful for the ride both ways.
My new phone came while we were away, so while I got that puppy set up, I aired up Amanda’s tires so she could make it home. Now I’m gonna play with this phone until I fall asleep.
