Here's Tinnemaha Campground, on the east side of Hwy 395 opposite Tinnemaha Reservoir. That's Tinnemaha Creek running through the campground. It's a bare-bones site, but I wanted to try my trailer's "boondocking" capabilities, i.e., to be self-contained and not have to worry about facilities or power. You can see my new generator sitting on the ground to the right of Discovery. It's a Yamaha EF2000iS, meaning it can generate up to 2000 watts of power. It proved to be plenty powerful -- and very quiet for a generator with its output -- though I did have to shut off an appliance or two as I could tell it was straining. And I've read that the power output decreases by 3% with every 1000 feet of altitude gain -- and the campground is at approximately 4000 feet.

After all those bright autumnal colors, it was a little relieving to my eyes to return to the subdued tones of Owens Valley. This is the area west of Tinnemaha Campground looking north to the distant White Mountains. The late-afternoon sky is just as mesmerizing, if not more so, than the groundscape.
