A Norfolk Southern Roadrailer crosses the Chippewa River in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This train is headed west to St. Paul most likely loaded with automobile part. The Union Pacific bridge they are crossing was part of new alignment built by the Chicago & North Western in 1912. The new 2.15 mile alignment through Eau Claire was now a double track line built with high speed curves and grades. The high bridge that was part of the old alignment still stands just down stream below the Excel Energy hydro dam and will soon become a bike path.Eau-Claire-Photographers, from
