Episcaphula sp. aff. rufolineata (Erotylidae, Erotylinae, Dacnini or Megalodacnini). This species is more orange than reddish as in E. rufolineata. The latter is very restricted to Mt Tamborine (4 records) and Lamington plateau (1 record). This is the first record for Springbrook. The Erotylidae, with 3,500 species, is basal within the Superfamily Cucujoidea and probably evolved some 150 million years ago in the Jurassic. In predating the evolution of flowering plants the feeding habits of the family encompass cycads and fungi. Most Erotylinae feed on fruiting bodies of Agaricales and Aphyllophorales.
