"THE POWER OF TWO"

"I don't know whether nice people tend to grow roses or growing roses makes people nice." ~ Roland A. Browne

SOOC, uncropped, no flash

Our neighbors and other subdivision residents are so kind about me taking pics of flowers and other photo worthy finds in their yards. These were photographed yesterday in our neighbor's yard (to the right) of our home.

Also, I am appreciative of your comments / votes on yesterday's "Skyscape" photo; as a result, it was the #2 photo yesterday. Although it was the #1 photo for the majority of the day, I am not complaining or "sweating the small stuff." SmugMuggers rock!!

Have a "pretty in pink" and "rosy" Monday!

Just a quick snap out the back door.... It was quite the stormy day yesterday. Gusts of winds that blew trees down, rain and the like. It was almost stopped raining when I noticed this rainbow in the backyard.

This was taken in RAW and Jpeg so I choose the Jpeg one just changed a few sliders in Lightroom 4 and ran out the door to work.

Have a great Tue, thanks for the comments....... ♥connie

"FLORAL and STRIPES" Theme

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” ~ Washington Irving

The debut of our May table setting.......

Happy Mother's Day to ALL women!!! Believe it or not; we are nurturers by nature and in some way, either biological or spiritual mothers, surrogate mothers, mother-figures, Godmothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts, sisters, cousins, sister-friends, and mentors.

Did you notice that I reused the placemats, napkins, and napkin rings from the April table setting? Also, I spotted the bowl in Wal Mart about two weeks ago, and during that time, it matched perfectly with the April table setting, also.

Additional photos of this and other table settings are here: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/11014855_M5W6FW#!i=2495635753&k=bCfWx3W

GOOD NEWS / EARLY MOTHER'S DAY GIFTS: I think I mentioned in one of my commentaries that I was enrolled in two graduate classes this semester while employed full-time; I am pursuing my 3rd degree - a Specialist degree and I am half-way finished. The semester officially ended last week and I earned an A in both classes (thank God) that were VERY challenging and involved a lot of reading, critical thinking, analyzing, and writing. All in all, I gained a wealth of knowledge, had the grace of God, a very supportive husband, and instructors who were true experts and professionals in their respective profession.

The table is spread; feast and enjoy your day!

The White River
one of the rivers that directly comes off of Mt Rainier
This is the Washington State flower, a Rhodadrendrem. This is the time of year they are all in bloom from pink to red, yellow, purple and a few shades in between. They are quite spectacular to see a group of them all together. Then the rest of the year they just look like a green bush. Oh well, they surely make up for it in the spring.
Have a great weekend. Here it is unusually warm. About 1 degrees warmer than usual. Should be in the 70's Sat and Sunday. :-D connie
Last weekend we went to see my Dad and step-mom, Joyce. We have had better weekend weather but at least it never rained really hard. Just a few sprinkles here and there. We still sat around the fire and ate corn on the cob, baked potatoes and veggies in tin foil packs that also roasted in the fire. There were of course hot dogs for the kids and some of us big kids.

It was a -2 tide so it was fun to turn rocks over and see the little sea life scramble new rock to get under. The only ones to creep out was Clay and Ally which was the reason we were turning the rock over in the first place. Had to chuckle about that one, as they ran off to play in the sand. Leaving Mom and Dad and Grandpa to the adventure.

Have a great day..... connie
