"REDBUD TREE"

"I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted, they travel about as far as we do. They go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day, and through space, heaven knows how fast and far!" ~ John Muir

This is a full shot of the tree (in my neighbor's backyard) from which I photographed the purple-pink redbuds that I posted last Wednesday.

View a close-up of the purple-pink redbuds on this tree here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2013/26639637_Z6qTTz#!i=2415275748&k=vrKSWJW&lb=1&s=A

Have a marvelous Monday and a great start to the work week.

"MAGNOLIA LILIIFLORA"

"So long as you are still worried about what others think of you, you are owned by them. Only when you require no approval from outside yourself can you own yourself." ~ Neale Donald Walsch, author of Conversations with God

SOOC, uncropped

I photographed this bloom yesterday after work. It was a beautiful day, although not sunny. The Japanese Magnolia tree in our backyard has been producing blooms since late last week in preparation for spring's arrival on tomorrow.

Thanks for your kind comments on my "Catcher's Mit" photo yesterday. I'm sure our grandson will be all smiles as he reads them.

Have a terrific Tuesday.

"PURPLE-PINK REDBUDS"

Spring has sprung...............first day of spring

A tree in our neighbor's backyard......I love the color combinations of the buds!

"Beauty in Our Forests" by Maimee Lee Robinson Browne

Deep in the forests in spring
When the redbird makes her first call
She sees only the green of the cedar
and the Redbud through brown leaves of fall.
Brilliant buds tempt travelers to gather
Small sprays to take on their way,
Denuding the forests of slender
and wasting God’s glory each day.

To protect this miracle of springtime
When drab colors become radiant hue,
Help God keep beauty in our forests
For birds and mankind to view.
