"ULTRA STILETTOS"

"Wear big high heels, but do practice walking!" ~ Victoria Beckham

Here's another one for all of the shoe fanciers. This shoe was worn last Friday by one of my colleagues who LOVES shoes as much as I do. She wears some of the most unique and attention-grabbing shoes! She sure did look "glam," in her hot pink suit, black shirt, and hot pink/black polka dot bow-tie; but I shudder to think how my feet would have felt at the end of the day:).

Previously, I posted a shot of another one of her shoes here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2012/19925393_swcnH9#!i=2241393102&k=dVLkNvK&lb=1&s=A

TGIF!!!!

"NIGHT LIGHTS"

"It's a strange world of language in which skating on thin ice can get you into hot water." ~ Franklin P. Jones

SOOC, uncropped - final post from the series of ice photos taken during a winter storm in our city last month

Thanks for your comments on the photos in this series and your patience with seeing so much "ice" over the course of ten days:). The entire "Ice, Ice, Baby 2013" gallery is here: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/27557881_FhvPHs#!i=2319909262&k=GVrxnbQ

Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday!

"FROZEN RED BERRIES"

"Better than any argument is to rise at dawn and pick dew-wet red berries in a cup." ~ Wendell Berries

Photographed on day two of a winter storm in our city, here's a tree full of red nandina berries in our neighbor's front yard. The ice has encased each branch and berry. Nothing brightens up a frosty landscape like red berries. Because the berries aren't favorites of the birds, they will last nearly all winter. It was another 60% work day.........woo hoo:)!

Thanks for your overwhelmingly kind comments on yesterday's "Spikes of Ice" photo. I have two more to post in the series and then, it's on to another subject:).

Have a terrific Tuesday.

"TIED, TANGLED, AND TWISTED"

"Those who cannot understand how to put their thoughts on ice should not enter into the heat of debate." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

Photographed on day two of the ice in our city due to a winter storm, the massess of ice on the branches of a bush (near the tree with the red berries - yesterday's post) in our neighbor's front yard appear tangled, in my opinion. It was also another 60% work day......woo hoo! One more to go from this series.......

Have a wonderful "hump" day!

"SPIKES OF ICE"

“Honesty is like an icicle; once it melts, that is the end of it” ~ American Proverb

This is one of my favorites in my "Ice, Ice Baby - 2013" series. I was pleasantly surprised to see colorful leaves on this small bush in our front yard. Photographed on day two of the ice in our city due to a winter storm, it was also another 60% work day.

Thanks for your comments on yesterday's "Frozen Leaves" photo.

Happy Monday and have a great start to the work week.

"FROZEN LEAVES"

“Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

SOOC, uncropped, and best viewed in large

A tree in our backyard on day two of the ice in our city due to a winter storm...... and another 60% work day

It's Super Bowl XLVII Sunday in NOLA (New Orleans, LA, that is:) and John and Jim Harbaugh have become the first brothers to coach against one another on the NFL's biggest stage. John is the head coach for the Baltimore Ravens; Jim, on the other hand, is the head coach for the San Francisco 49ers. My guys are pulling for the Balitmore Ravens.

Have a blessed, touchdown, and win-win kind of day.

"FROZEN DEAD LEAVES"

"Do not think of your faults; still less of others' faults. Look for what is good and strong and try to imitate it. Your faults will drop off like dead leaves when their time comes." ~ John Ruskin

Brrrrr..........frozen leaves on a wrought iron chair - photographed on day two of the winter ice storm in our city this year. The result? It was another 60% work day..........woo hoo!!!

I appreciate your comments on my "Ice, Ice, Baby" series:)! Also, I've noticed that some of my previous daily photos are reappearing today - some with comments, others without. Thanks, anyway.

Have a safe weekend, my friends!

"ICICLES"

“Silent icicles, quietly shining to the quiet moon.” ~ Samuel Taylor Coleridge

SOOC, uncropped

Brrrrr........The ice has encased each branch.

Here's another really cold shot from the rain and ice we had on January 14, 2013 due to a winter storm. This is a shot of one of two rose bushes in our backyard - photographed the same day as the previous pic. I took several pics that will be forthcoming, so bare with me; we so rarely have icicles:).

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

"ICE-COATED CYCAD"

"If any man seeks for greatness, let him forget greatness and ask for truth, and he will find both." ~ Horace Mann

SOOC, uncropped

Brrrrr.........raindrops keep falling on my........

I couldn't resist posting another "ice cold" shot from the effects of our city's recent winter storm two weeks ago. This is the Japanese Sago Palm that you've seen from different perspectives in previous daily posts in my 2012 gallery. It was photographed the same day as the previous two pics. Sago Palms actually are not in the palm family, but are instead a cycad.... its botanical name being Cycas Revoluta. Fortunately Cycas Revoluta is a relatively cold tolerant cycad, able to handle frost and temps as low as 19 degrees Fahrenheit.

Thanks for your comments on my "ICICLES" photo yesterday.

Hang in there; tomorrow is Friday!
