"NEW YEAR, NEW CAMERA"
"Whosoever possesses a camera should never know boredom.” ~ Wayne Gerard Trotman
Saw it. Wanted it. Got it. All I wanted for Christmas was......
~ a new DSLR camera (an upgrade from DSLR #2)
~ a new cell phone (an upgrade)
and......I got both (among other gifts from family and friends)!
To date, I still have not taken any photos with my new "toy" due to the fact that I have been exceptionally busy and on the go during the holidays. I have thumbed through the manual, but not extensively. The "new toy" arrived Thursday, December 22, 2016 and I didn't open the box until Monday, December 26, 2016. My second DSLR arrived on Thursday, November 1, 2012. My first DSLR was purchased in 2009.
For now, I'm keeping DSLR #2; but eventually, I'll bless a budding photographer with it. I have always been a "giver" (even as a child). Last year, while eating at a Subway one Saturday in a nearby city, a lady and her eleven year old son entered. Subway was the designated "meet-up" location for her mother (who was driving from Destin, Florida to take her grandson back for spring break). We began to converse and during the course of our conversation, he/she noticed my camera and mentioned his love of photography. He stated, "Mom, I want a camera like that."
We continued to converse and at the end of our conversation, we exchanged addresses and telephone numbers. Unbeknown to either of them, I had decided to bless him with my first DSLR, which I mailed the following Monday. When it arrived, they called - one surprised and happy family - father, mother, and son. It made my day!
One of my mantras? "Help others without any reason and give without the expectation of receiving anything in return.” ~ Roy T. Bennett (excerpt from "The Light in the Heart").
Even the Bible declares, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." ~ Luke 6:38, KJV
Have a marvelous Monday!
