"Every spring, this country will be reminded of the Lady from Texas. As trees bloom and flowers carpet our nation's capital, Lady Bird Johnson will be remembered. Only Lady Bird Johnson could, with her vision of a beautiful America, lay claim to spring as her memorial." ~ David Mixner
SOOC, uncropped; 35mm lens
The first day of spring is tomorrow - woo hoo! I hadn't used my 35mm lens in a minute (since November of last year, I'm guessing), so when I saw that the Japanese Magnolia (aka "Saucer Magnolia") tree in our backyard had several buds and blooms (harbingers of spring), I attached it to the camera and started snapping away. While out and about, I also noticed that some of the Japanese Magnolia trees in other people's yards have dark purple blooms already; I like them much better. Last night, my hubby even informed me that he saw the dark purple JP's at a few residences. Hmmm.....I will have to make my rounds:).
