"BELLEHAVEN" was home to Emma Stone (aka "Skeeter" during the filming of the movie "The Help").

“Jealousy is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius.” ~ Fulton J. Sheen

"Emma Stone arrived in Greewood to play Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, and chose to stay at the lovely Bellehaven home on Crockett. Bellehaven, a piece of Southern history, was built in 1902. With a major renovation in the 1970s, this home, designed especially for entertaining, was perfect for Ms. Stone." ~ Reprinted text from here: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=208647013649693247131.0004aae053c2dab870ada&msa=0&ll=33.512488,-90.178528&spn=0.063977,0.076561

"Skeeter Phelan is a bundle of contradictions. She's a 23-year-old white woman with a cotton trust fund and a college degree. She lives at home on her family's cotton plantation, Longleaf. And she devotes herself, at considerable risk, to a book featuring the real stories of the black women who work for the white families in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. Contradictions abound, indeed."

"She belongs to the Junior League and is in tight with other high-society ladies. She's been best friends with Hilly Holbrook and Elizabeth Leefolt (villainous characters) since grade school. But as the story progresses, Skeeter becomes more and more distanced from this safe social status and goes, as they say, rogue. She breaks all the rules and crosses dangerous lines – and we love her for it." ~ Reprinted texts from the official character analysis here: http://www.shmoop.com/the-help/skeeter-phelan.html

"RAINBOW"

Somewhere Over The Rainbow.........

"At the very end of the rainbow is another wonderful place called Rainbow Land. It's filled with small, round houses and thousands of brightly-colored flowers. There are even trees that are shaped like stars. Standing right in the middle of Rainbow Land is a tall tower called the Color Castle." ~ Author Unknown

"COFFEE WITH THE FIRST FAMILY"

"Of all the rocks upon which we build our lives, we are reminded today that family is the most important." ~ President Barack Obama, the 44th and first African-American President of the United States of America

DISCLAIMER: The fact that I posted this photo today does not mean that I voted for or did not vote for Barack Obama. As a citizen of the United States, I make a concerted effort to post a photo in honor of all USA holidays / special event days on the day that they occur. Any comment that is soap box in nature, derogatory, and/or a personal attack against the President, First Lady, and/or their girls will be deleted. Amen!

Photo posted in honor of President's Day & African-American History Month. In January 2009, the beginning of Mr. Obama's first term, my best friend sent me this mug and a tee shirt that features a collage of photos of the president in a variety of settings. In 2008, I was invited to Barack Obama's Presidential Election Campaing at Jackson State University as a VIP guest, compliments of a former colleague (Georgetown graduate) whom I mentored for two years. At that time, he was working on the campaign; after Obama's election, he became a full-time employee with the Obama Administration, where he currently works.

God, bless America; America, bless God!
