"Robin Egg Blue"
This nest is in a yucca plant right by my front door. I noticed a bird flying out anytime the door was opened. I investigated and found the nest with these lovely little eggs. Now the story of how I got the shot......I got a ladder and tried to get the shot, didn't work because I couldn't get high enough. My nephew came over later in the day. I got him to hold the ladder while I climbed to the very top. I held on to the eave of the house and started shooting. (I bet that sight would have made a great daily photo!) I felt safe because he is 6'5" and could easily catch me if I fell. I was determined to get the shot of these eggs. Even though it doesn't show in the photo that bird was a master at building the nest. I read it takes around 14 days for the eggs to hatch. I'm going to keep an eye out and listen for little chirps. Maybe I can get a shot of them.
I enjoyed all the letter posts yesterday. There were really some great ones. I certainly appreciate all the comments on my photo.
