I wanted a picture of the sunset, and I knew I had only moments to capture these clouds. If I had spent the time to get a perfect landscape to go with them (without power lines) I would have missed the clouds.

The only concession I made was to wait for a safe spot to pull off the road.
I've lived in southwestern North Dakota for nearly 8 years. I've driven past this house often enough and it never caught my eye.

Tonight, the light must have been just perfect. Look at that pink sky!
I've always heard you should use a fence or a road to lead the viewer into the picture. Here I'm using a bunch of lines to draw the viewer in.

This is one of those times when any passenger in my car would get tired of me. I spotted this group of trees, turned around, and went back to photograph it!
This was a great evening. I'm really glad I decided to come back home via the diagonal route instead of the interstate. This was an interesting barn near Regent. Even the pictures I'm not posting turned out well in this light, and I came home in a great mood because of the awesome light!
