This is an image I captured of a Screech Owl. This owl was one of several raptors that volunteers from the Colorado HawkQuest organization brought out to a local park, and allowed photographers to capture some wonderful images. I like this shot because the hand provides a good scale to judge just how tiny a Screech Owl really is.

I was trekking around Northwest Colorado with some friends recently, and we came upon the Wyman Living History Museum. This museum was founded by Lou Wyman in August of 2006. The place place has an amazing collection of items collected throughout the west and beyond. We spent several hours at this place, and quite literally only began to scratch the surface of unique items to photograph. Needless to say, this is a place I will return to in the near future. I took this shot of an old caboose that was sitting on the museum property. This particular caboose was owned by the Colorado and Southern (C&S) Railway. It is wooden construction, and was retired from service in August of 1973. Lou Wyman brought this caboose to the museum, and in the process tore out many street lights along Colfax Avenue in Denver.

I'm out on the edge with this photo...trying something I've not done before: apply textures to an image! This is my first time doing this sort of thing, so I'll be interested in hearing the image is received by the community. This is a gem of a find that my friend Phillip Rubino spotted while out on a photo trek.

I happened across a grove of Aspen trees, and noticed an oddity among the group...

I was out-n-about practicing my technique for capturing Birds In Flight (BIF). This Snowy Egret was kind enough to do a slow fly-by so that I could capture a picture. I shot this image using a 70-200 lens maxed out at the long end. And I still feel that I needed more reach to really capture a fantastic BIF image. This image is cropped significantly, and the pixelation artifacts definitely can be seen.
